In order to measure viscosity correctly, it is necessary to calibrate the viscometer with a viscosity standard material. The Standard Liquid for Calibrating Viscometer is the only JIS product in Japan and is JCSS calibrated *, so it provides reliable evidence for research and development, quality control, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance. * Calibration by the registered business after being examined by the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE) and Certification Center (IA Japan) based on the Measurement Law Calibration Business Registration System (JCSS).
Standard Liquids for Calibrating Viscometers are widely used in industry to ensure traceability with national measurement standards for viscosity. It also contributes to the development of viscosity measurement based on the Industrial Standardization Law and the Measurement Law, and peripheral technologies related to viscosity. Our Calibration Laboratory was registered and certified as a JCSS calibration company by the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation on December 25, 2012.
We use ISO / IEC 17025 (JIS Q 17025) as the accreditation standard, and the accreditation scheme is accredited under JCSS operated in accordance with ISO / IEC 17011. The accreditation body (IAJapan) that operates JCSS has signed mutual recognition between the Asia-Pacific Accreditation Cooperation Organization (APAC) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). JIS Z 8809 describes the following as handling precautions.
-The standard solution must be sealed, away from heat and light, and stored at room temperature.
-Do not return the standard solution after use to the original container.
-It is desirable to avoid reusing the used liquid and use it as soon as possible after opening the cap.
Calibration certificate
A “calibration certificate” with the JCSS logo is attached to each Standard Liquids for Calibrating Viscometers based on the calibration results of the Calibration Laboratory of Nippon Grease Co., Ltd. The calibration certificate describes the items specified in [JIS Z 8809 Standard Liquids for Calibrating Viscometers], and includes the issue date, issue number, product lot number, and inclusion coefficient k = 2 (reliability level of about 95). %) Expanded uncertainty, calibration date, calibration method, etc. are also shown.
Traceability
The calibration certificate with the JCSS logo attached to the standard solution is a proof that traceability with the national measurement standard is ensured. The supply system of the Standard Liquids for Calibrating Viscometers of Nippon Grease maintains the international high standard and is registered in the International Standard Material Database (COMAR) supported by the ISO Standard Material Committee (REMCO). We ensure traceability as a standard solution sufficient for the construction and maintenance of ISO 9000 family quality management system and ISO 14000 family environmental management system. The system related to the calibration of the viscometer should be established and maintained by the user of the standard solution.
Method to obtain kinematic viscosity and / or viscosity other than calibration temperature
Calculate and use the kinematic viscosity or viscosity of the standard solution at any temperature. Please refer to the explanation of JIS Z 8809 “Standard Liquids for Calibrating Viscometers”. The constant is determined by the kinematic viscosity or viscosity described in the calibration certificate, and when used at other temperatures, theoretical temperature correction is performed according to the required measurement accuracy. Please refer to JIS Z 8803 “Liquid Viscosity-Measurement Method-“.
About calculation of kinematic viscosity / viscosity at arbitrary temperature
“Temperature-kinematic viscosity / viscosity calculation table” in the temperature range of 20-40 ° C is attached to the product. This calculation table calculates the kinematic viscosity and viscosity for each 0.1 ° C, and uses the calculation method described in JIS Z 8809. Deviations between calculated and measured kinematic viscosities and kinematic viscosities in the temperature range of 20-40 ° C are within the Expanded uncertainty of calibration values but are not covered by the warranty.
